PROJECT OVERVIEW
PROJECT OVERVIEW

Homegrown: The Mountmellick Playwrights Festival is a community-led theatre festival celebrating original writing and local creative voices in Co. Laois. Previously known as Page to Stage, the festival needed a clearer long-term identity, a stronger digital presence and a simple way to bring together information about submissions, the programme and future ticket sales. Positioned helped shape the new festival identity and build the foundations for its 2027 launch across social media and web.

The Challenge
The Challenge

The Challenge The festival already had an audience and strong local support, but its digital presence was fragmented. The existing Page to Stage name was widely used by other theatre projects, there was no dedicated festival website or domain, information lived across different channels, and the submission process was evolving as the 2027 programme developed. The challenge was to create something that felt more established and professional without losing the grassroots, community-led character of the festival.

WHAT WE DID
WHAT WE DID

We developed a new long-term identity — Homegrown: The Mountmellick Playwrights Festival — while retaining “Page to Stage ’27” during the transition so the existing audience would still recognise the event. The project included: - repositioning and naming - updated Facebook branding and page information - a new visual direction for social content - content strategy and an initial bank of campaign posts - submission-focused educational content and Q&As - a one-page Framer website - custom domain setup at mmplays.ie - festival email infrastructure - Facebook Event setup - planning for Instagram and local digital promotion - a clear digital journey from festival discovery → submissions → future ticket sales
